"The source of happiness is in your heart. It would be foolish to look for it elsewhere. You would be the shepherd looking for a lost lamb when all along it was tucked inside his shirt." (Tolstoy)
Kites are very popular in Chinese culture. Our father made kites for us when we were younger. The pure simple joy of making them and flying them delighted him and his five sons.
How happy we were and didn't know it!
When I was a child we made our own kites. We were nine children, 7 girls, 2 boys. We had no money so we had to make our own fun - nothing bought. We were satisfied with what we had and what fun it was to know that we had actually made a kite, and best of all, it stayed up in the air! Those were fun days, even if we were poor as "church mice."
