'Iesuita non cantat' - true to his training - among the many firsts, Pope Francis did not chant his first blessing to us:

'Iesuita non cantat' - 'Jesuit does not sing'. Among the many firsts not mentioned by the media was the non-chanting of the closing blessing by the new Pope on March 13th. Perhaps, he was following an old Jesuit custom: 'Jesuits do not sing!' But, does it really matter?
I smiled and thought: 'Wow! This pontificate may be different?'
Many thoughts, words and images of a previously unknown Cardinal now flood our consciousness! Here are a few photos presented to us, singing a thousand words and songs to our hearts - family, hospitality, care, compassion.
Life, I have often been told, is about songs and promises: those we sing and don't sing; those we keep and don't keep. Hopefully out of the many songs and promises he listens to and makes may carve out a legacy for us worthy to remember!
   "Ad multos annos," Papa Francesco!
