What have I learnt about generosity in 2015?

These are the hand-written words of Anne Frank (1929-1945), one of the most discussed Jewish victims of the Holocaust. The photo depicts Syrian refugees walking to Germany. What a contrast in history!
My word of life for 2015 was 'Generosity.' I chose to examine my
own attitudes towards others and tried to be as generous as possible in the year. This summer, I was inspired by the German Chancellor Angela Merkel's controversial words to her fellow citizens about accommodating the overflow of refugees in their country: "Wir schaffen das!" ("We can do this!") Not many are convinced! At the time, I was re-reading Anne Frank's "Diary of a Young Girl" and saw her handwritten words which touched me.
Yes, indeed, what I learnt about generosity individually and collectively is summarized in Anne's wisdom and worth repeating:
"No one has ever become poor by giving!"
May we never be afraid of giving; of being generous, especially, if we know we can do it! Trust and faith are the indispensable tools needed to shape our generosity.
